आड किल्ला

आड किल्ला महाराष्ट्रातील नाशिक जिल्ह्यात आहे. हा किल्ला फारच छोटा आहे किल्ल्याची उंची जवळजवळ ४०४६ फूट आहे. आडवाडीच्या बेस गावातून आड किल्ल्याच्या पायथ्यापर्यंत पायी जाण्यासाठी जवळजवळ अर्धा तास लागतो. हा प्राचीन टेकडी किल्ला मुख्यतः सिन्नर आणि इगतपुरी दरम्यानच्या भागात टेहळणी बुरूजासाठी वापरला जात असे. हा किल्ला पहिल्या शतकाच्या सुरूवातीस बांधण्यात आला होता, असा स्थानिकांचा विश्वास आहे. शिखरावर जाण्यासाठी २ मार्ग आहेत. एक माधली आडवाडीची असून ती सोपी पण लांब आहे. दुसरा वरची आडवाडीचा असून तो इतरांपेक्षा खंबीर पण खात्रीने आहे आणि १५ मिनिटे घेते. पट्टा, औंढा, डुबरगड, सोनगड, पर्वतगड, कळसूबाई शिखर इत्यादी किल्ले यावरुन पाहिले जाऊ शकतात.

गडाचा माथा रुंद पठार असून त्यावर सुमारे तीन पाण्याच्या टाक्या आहेत. गडावर काही जुन्या वास्तूही आहेत. या किल्ल्याचे वय जवळजवळ २२०० वर्षे आहे, असे वयोवृद्ध पाण्याच्या टाक्यांवरून आपण अंदाज लावू शकतो. गडावर पाण्याच्या टाकीच्या आत एक विचित्र शरभ शिल्प आहे. पूर्वेकडच्या खालच्या बाजूला एक गुहा व पाण्याची टाकी आहे. सध्या बरीच पवन ऊर्जा कंपन्यांनी लगतच्या भागात पवनचक्की बसविली आहेत.

पश्चिमेस हनुमानाचे मंदिर आहे. या बाजुला किल्ल्याची पायरी चढण्याचा मार्ग आहे. आड उंच उभे आहे आणि त्याचा उत्तर-पश्चिम दिशेने अनुलंब दगड दर्शवित आहे. पायथ्यापासून किल्ल्याकडे पाहिले तर पांढऱ्या रंगाचा ठिपका दिसत आहे, ती एक गुहा आहे. या गुहेत, जगदंबा देवीची मूर्ती आहे. या गुहेला लागून असलेली आणखी एक उत्खनन केलेली गुहा आहे. ही गुहा निवासस्थानासाठी वापरली जाऊ शकते. गुहेच्या बाहेर पाण्याची टाकी आहे जी जवळजवळ जमिनीत पुरली गेली आहे. उत्तरेकडे जाताना काही पायऱ्या चढून वरच्या बाजूस पठारावर येते. या किल्ल्यावर सुमारे १५ टाक्या आहेत.

गडाच्या माथ्यावर चालत असताना काही ठिकाणी अवशेषांमधील वास्तू दिसू शकतात. या अवशेषांपैकी एकाकडे दगडी शिल्प आहे आणि ती परिधान करुन फाडल्यामुळे मूर्ती ओळखता येत नाही. या मूर्तीच्या समोर झूमरसारखा मोठा दगडी दिवा आहे. गडाच्या वरच्या भागावर दोन किल्ल्यांचे अवशेष आहेत, त्यातील एक समाधी आहे. गडाच्या पश्चिमेस भिंत असलेल्या दुसर्‍या इमारतीचे अवशेष दिसतात. गडाच्या उत्तरेस कोकण दरवाजाचे अवशेष आहेत. तथापि केवळ या दाराची चौकट उभी आहे आणि कमानाचे पडलेले दगड आजूबाजूला दिसू शकतात.

Ancient Hill Fort: Aad

Aad fort is located in Nashik district of Maharashtra. This fort is very small. The height of the fort is about 4046 feet. It takes about half an hour to walk from the base village of Aadwadi to the base of Aad fort. This ancient hill fort was mainly used as a watchtower in the area between Sinnar and Igatpuri. The fort is believed to have been built at the beginning of the first century. There are 2 ways to reach the top. There is a middle bar and it is simple but long. The second one is from the upper side and it is stronger than the others but it takes 15 minutes. Forts like Patta, Aundha, Dubargad, Songad, Parvatgad, Kalsubai Shikhar etc. can be seen from here.

The top of the fort is a wide plateau with about three water tanks. There are also some old structures on the fort. The age of this fort is about 2200 years, we can guess from the aged water tanks. Inside the water tank on the fort is a strange Sharabh sculpture. On the lower east side there is a cave and a water tank. Currently, many wind power companies have installed windmills in nearby areas.

To the west is the temple of Hanuman. On this side is the way to climb the steps of the fort. The side stands high and shows its vertical stone in a north-westerly direction. If you look at the fort from the base, you can see a white spot, it is a cave. In this cave, there is an idol of Goddess Jagdamba. Adjacent to this cave is another excavated cave. This cave can be used for habitat. Outside the cave is a water tank that is almost buried in the ground. Going north, you climb a few steps and reach the plateau at the top. There are about 15 tanks on this fort.

Remains can be seen in some places while walking on the top of the fort. One of these relics has a stone sculpture and the idol cannot be identified as it has been torn down. In front of this idol is a large stone lamp like a chandelier. At the top of the fort are the remains of two forts, one of which is a samadhi. To the west of the fort are the remains of another walled building. To the north of the fort are the remains of the Konkan Gate. However only the frame of this door is vertical and the fallen stones of the arch can be seen all around.
