चतुर्थ शतकातील जैन लेणी: चामर / चांभार लेणी

 

चामर लेणी महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील नाशिक जिल्ह्यात आहे. नाशिक आणि त्याच्या आसपासच्या  भागांमध्ये असंख्य मंदिरे तसेच तीर्थक्षेत्र देखील प्रसिद्ध आहेत. चामर लेणी/तीर्थराज गजपंथ नाशिक-गुजरात रस्त्यावर म्हसरूळ येथे आहे. हे शहराच्या मध्यभागापासून फक्त ९ किमी. आणि नाशिक रेल्वे स्थानकापासून १६ किमी. अंतरावर आहे. आपण बस, टॅक्सी किंवा वाहनाच्या माध्येमातून तेथे पोहचू शकता. 

अकराव्या शतकात दक्षिण राजवंशातील चामराज नावाच्या जैन राजाने या लेण्या कोरल्या आहेत. आणि म्हणूनच या लेण्यांना चामर लेणी म्हणतात. तथापि, नाशिक गँझेटियरमध्ये याला चांभार लेणी असे संबोधले जाते. तळ पायथ्याशी चांभार पंथातील एका देवाचे मंदिर आहे. जैन मान्यतेनुसार या टेकडीला गजपाठी म्हणून देखील ओळखले जाते. 

चामर लेणी येथील लेण्या म्हणजे चतुर्थ शतकातील जैन लेणी आणि जैन धर्माचे एक पवित्र ठिकाण आहे. चामर लेणी हा तीर्थराज गजपंथचा एक भाग आहे, जे जैनांचे पवित्र स्थान आहे. हे स्थान जैन अनुयायांसाठी खूप महत्वाचे आहे. लेण्या सुमारे ४०० फूट उंचीवर आहेत. जैन मंदिराकडे जाणारा जिना काळ्या दगडांनी बनविला गेला आहे. ते दरीचे विस्मयकारक उत्कृष्ट  दृश्य देतात. हि बाजू अतिशय शांत वातावरण प्रदान करते जी रमण्यासाठी योग्य आहे. 

प्रादेशिक भाषेमध्ये लेण्यांना "चांभार लेणी" किंवा "चामर लेणी" असे नाव पडले. डोंगराच्या शिखरावर अशी काही मंदिरे आहेत ज्यात अनेक लेण्यांसह अनेक जैन संतांचे श्र्वेता चरण आहेत. आपल्याला क्षेमेंद्र कीर्तीची समाधी आणि एक सुंदर बाग देखील सापडेल. आपण भगवान महावीराच्या  चार दिशात्मक पुतळ्याच्या मंदिरात देखील जाऊ शकता.  

उत्तरेस रामशेज किल्ला आहे. तसेच पश्चिमेस बोरगड, दहेर आहे.

4th century Jain Caves: Chamar  /Chambar  Caves

Chamar Caves is located in Nashik district of Maharashtra state. Numerous temples and pilgrimage sites are also famous in and around Nashik. Chamar Caves / Tirthraj Gajpanth is at Mhasrul on Nashik-Gujarat road. It is only 9 km from the city center. And 16 km from Nashik railway station. You can get there by bus, taxi or vehicle.

These caves were carved on this mountain by a Jain king named Chamraj of the southern dynasty in the eleventh century. That is the caves are called Chamar Caves. However, in the Nashik Gazetteer it is referred to as Chambar Caves. At the base of the temple of a god of the Chambar sect. According to Jain mythology, this hill is also known as Gajpathi.

The caves at Chamar Caves are 4th century Jain caves and a sacred site of Jainism. Chamar Caves is a part of Tirthraj Gajpanth, a holy place of Jains. This place is very important for Jain followers. The caves are about 400 feet high. The staircase leading to the Jain temple is made of black stone. They offer a wonderful view of the valley. This side provides a very quiet environment which is perfect for enjoying.

In the regional language, the caves are called "Chambar Caves" or "Chamar Caves". There are some temples on the top of the hill which have many caves as well as Shweta Charans of many Jain saints. You will also find Kshemendra Kirti Samadhi and a beautiful garden. You can also visit the four directional temple of Lord Mahavira.

To the north is Ramshej Fort. Also to the west is Borgad, Daher.
